Minor correction. The connector insert is marked "14S-9", not 145-9. This 
ID's the connector as probably MS 3106A-14S-9P, which is the later standard 
Navy connector for handsets, headset/boom mics and chest sets.  Having an NSN 
instead of an FSN dates it to 1975 or later.  Although the design may be 
older.
