The 500s were priced at $550 for the pair and did work, more or less. But
neither was a show winner. They did sell for slightly less, maybe $475.
The 150-B weighs in at 305 lbs for the transmitter, 39 lbs for the exciter
and coils aka Signal Shifter ver. 2, and the box of tank coils in probably
another 10 lbs. Haven't measured yet to be sure, but it looks like you
could place a Hallicrafters HT-9 through the lid opening on the Meissner.
It was actually a RAK-8 that I had, with supply and connecting cable.
Priced at $100 per the suggestion of one of the milsurplus guys who was
there and knows his stuff. Dropped price later, but it didn't sell. The
only thing I brought back, everything else went. For overall utility and
desirability, I'd place the RAL ahead of the RAK in value. The RAK seems
designed for CW only.
