Well, here's a couple  example to complicate your thinking about 4-letter Army calls:

WZBJ  Atlantic City, New Jersey, U.S.A.    a 15 watt A3 fixed location station, 1943, owner - U.S. Army
or 
WZAP Cairo, Il.  446 and 480 kHz A1, A2  owner  - U.S. Army 

However, I concur, the call would seem to be a ship call. I find no listings for 4-letter Army calls 
starting with K.
