[Milsurplus] Pogo stick at Guadalcanal

I noted in reading the Radio News special for Feb. 1944, that it talks about in the Guadalcanal campaign,
 the 'guidon set' SCR-511 ( "511 set" )   ( BC-745 )  were better for distance than BC-611 ( SCR-536 ) or BC-1000 ( SCR-300 ).
A small revelation to me, as I'd thought the 511 set was used overseas only in North Africa and later, the Aleutians.
