BTW, a footnote of interest ( or disinterest. )  RADIO NEWS, Signal Corps special edition Feb. 1944, page 109, shows some troops
"disembarking with their portable radio equipment". However, it looks to me that the wood-sided thing they are descending from
on chain ladders may actually be a training mock-up and not an actual ship or landing barge of any kind. One troop ( no insignia
whatsoever ) has a TBY bag on his back and another, what looks to me like an SCR-284 radio bag on his back – although I have
still to check whether this is so.
This mag is seeable on americanradiohistory.com but if I do any scanning today or tomorrow I might scan it and post it here on the
group.
