US telco central offices also use positive-ground 48 VDC supplies to reduce corrosion in equipment cabinetry. Galvanic currents in this arrangement bring electrons INTO the steel, reducing oxidation (loss of electrons from the steel, a/k/a rusting.) Less corrosion in the cabinets means low-resistance ground connections are maintained longer, etc., etc.

With cars and the like, positive ground, less corrosion, negative ground less spark plug noise, or so it seems. This is a reply to a similar question answered by someone from Lucas Ltd. in 1966.

On your workbench, it needs more clutter! I found a stout dinning room table at Habit for not much money. It is about 4 by 7 feet and will support anything I can put on it. It has been painted too many times but I didn't buy it for it's beauty!

So why, with the exception of microwave backbone, did people
finally surrender to what The Almighty obviously intended
and make Negative Ground nearly universal?
