Hi

There are a surprising number of sellers that simultaneously sell an item through

multiple channels. It may be up on Craig’s List, on eBay, and on the counter at

their bricks and mortar store. However it sells …. out it goes.

An item abruptly disappearing may be due to it being accidentally damaged

and no longer meeting the description. I once advertised a computer and

bidding was going well until a disk jammed in the drive irretrievably.

I was forced to withdraw the auction.

I recently got my feet wet again in Ebay, sold a paper item, as a learning experience for running some ham gear thru there.

I was very surprised to get a "Would you end this auction right now for $-----  ? " message.  Of course I didn't reply; too dumb

a message to deign replying. I wonder why this lives on, and why  people fall for it. The item I had, sold for about twice the

"end early" offer. I have seen a pretty rare WW2 Japan radio  disappear suddenly off Ebay, no doubt due to the same

game. I had a rare headphone, imagine if you can a U.S. headphone selling for over $500, surprised the hell out of me too,

this was a few years back, and I got a "end early" offer on that too.  Real dumb.
