[Milsurplus] The old 2 MHz boat channels ?

Actually, I WAS Seattle KOW2 for some minutes. A couple times I did the 10 AM wx broadcast on the 2 MHz channel. This was
from, I think, a "studio" on the 3rd floor, 1201 3rd Avenue in Seattle. The "studio" was a phone booth in the office, probably
to cut down extraneous noise. I was a little bit nervous about my "broadcast" but it was no big deal, no one gave a poop and
probably no one was listening for it anyway. I recall one of the first SSB calls to Seattle Marine, it was from a Navy ship, I can't
recall whether I took the call or just overheard it on my headset, but it didn't work worth a damn, and contact was not
successfully made. I don't know if it was our equipment or the Navy's, probably ours. It wasn't an off-frequency, it was some
kind of level control problem. I don't recall when Pac. NW Bell totally gave up on HF ( MF ), but the next thing I recall is only
VHF channels being used. More deregulation and more malarkey on the radio.
