I found a factory-made "no solder" joint in the HFO section of the coil box of a 1.5 to 3.0 MHz 
AN/ARC-5 receiver. It had been painted with that red paint which showed that it had been 
inspected and found OK at the factory.

A 70+ year old factory defect.

By the time I got it, the HFO was dead and it didn't take too much effort to find and fix it.
