[Milsurplus] R-392 Question

A buddy of mine has an R-392 receiver that appears to have been dropped on
the front panel at one point in its life. This has resulted in a tuning
knob that binds at one part of its rotation, presumably due to a slightly
bent shaft. Also, the dial window glass is broken. It has been a few years
since I had one of these sets, fortunately I never had any issues like
this.

Is it feasible to replace the shaft on which the tuning knob is mounted? My
suggestion to him was to contact Fair Radio to see if they still have
junker sets that parts could be scrounged from.

Any advice from this learned group would be appreciated.
