A side note for miltary collectors and bolt counters... Contrary to popular belief, the CRR-47211, 9050-15040 KCs tuning unit for the ATD was built and did exist. I have held one in my hands. 50 years ago, my radio shop teacher recognized the rarity of this tuning unit... he wanted another $20 for it... regretfully, I passed.  Just 4 short years later, after Mr. Rodgers death, the Tech High school "radio shop" would be closed and his 40+ year collection would be dumpstered.

"Who knows" how many were manufactured ? That's anybody guess...
