[Milsurplus] ATR-11 circuit

Was looking at my one poor lonely RCAF ATR-11 schematic, from ETCO back in the day, and i seem to see that the VFO
tube is a 1625. Isn't this a rather large tube to use as a VFO to drive single 1625 PA ?

This radio "i think" was built by RCA Canada. Somewhat interestingly, it has the same freq range, or very similar, to the
BC-474 :  2.3 - 6.5 MHz. Also similarly, pretty poor tuning dial resolution. But of course, it wasn't intended for tuning
around the ham bands.
