I think the setup would be for a Coast Guard base, not a ship. Coast Guard base or lighthouse, if that suits your fancy.
The set definitely does have the 'old world' look.
I think with that freq range, 2-4.5 MHz, it would have to be AM.
Kind of reminds me of some of the large Northern Radio ( of Seattle ) over-under stacks with receiver, transmitter, and AC PS; big heavy sets - but with
less knobs to tweak than the USCG thing.
