I take exception to this entire line of thinking.

Just this past week I bought a component that was listed on one of the 
online  "For Sale" sites, and the seller emailed me to tell me that it 
was on the way and the tracking number at the same time he advised me of 
the total amount, and that I could drop a check in the mail at my 
convenience.   True, that is the exception, but I'd have to go back many 
years to find an instance where I got ripped-off vs a countless number 
of outstanding deals via eBay and at hamfests.  I've done the same for 
others.

I've always figured we reap what we sow and I've received too much help 
and advice over the years to let a few fools on eBay or at hamfests turn 
me into a grumpy old man.
