This is cool.. Made my morning.
Got a letter back from the gentleman in Kileen:

Dave - Thanks for the followup. I looked at my notes and had 
copied AB5S but wasn't sure due to QSB and QRN. I was on my 
inverted vee at the time and wasn't getting much response. I 
changed to my loop and worked KA5TJS for 66 minutes a few minutes 
later. If I'd been on the loop at the time (better for close in 
QSOs) I would have likely been able to work you.

There was some "warble" in the signal and now I know why. Sounds 
like you do some great work and are having a great time restoring 
old rigs. Hope to work you and one of the rigs soon. I'll check 
out your qrz page and hope we make a contact soon.
