I sympathize.
I recently attempted to translate a Russian radio manual for the R-800
VHF set.
And yes, Google translate kept giving me gems like "frequency skull mesh"
The best I was able to do is pull out individual words and try to make
sense of
what the writers were trying to say. It is very slow going.
Getting familiar with Cyrillic-Roman equivalents brought some words
out, and Google translate did help with some individual words such
as frequency and switch.
I did discover an interesting item about the manual I have.
One of the questions I have about the R-800 set was the crystal frequency
formulas for the receiver. The receiver is similar to the SCR-522, but
based
on the crystals in my receiver, the R-800 did not use the same harmonic
generation
scheme as the SCR-522.
With one exception, the book makes NO mention of specific frequency
ranges, multiplication factors or
related information. I did find one reference to the IF frequency, but
it was
buried in a diagram, not in the text.
I wonder if some poor technical writer got in trouble for that slip up.
