I'm curious about the values of C1 ( 2-part ), C2 plate coupling capacitor, and C3, C4 tuning caps.
Is the manual online, with these values?

If it was mine, i think it would be fun to clip in another capacitor across the lower C1 - the plate feedback section, say a value 3-4  times the present
C1, and see if any change.  Back in the day of the 01A tube, it may have been design-to-rule to make the feedback ratio 1:1, but i think that's hardly required with more effective
tubes. Just as an experiment. This will decouple the plate more from the tuned circuit.  This will throw off the tuning somewhat.
