[Milsurplus] Unknown receiver

These receivers are good performers. Circuit wise, it resembles a
BC-348 and performs every bit as well. It has two RF amplifiers and
three IFs, so the signal from the detector is quite strong, about 20
volts peak to peak on a reasonable signal. The 6Y6 audio output tube is
quite hefty and will drive a speaker with ease. The top chassis had the
crystal calibrator because the receiver was used to spot the transmitter
frequency. When restoring it, beware of the Micamold condensors used for
bypass and coupling, they look like micas but are actually paper and
usually bad. All the resistors in mine were fine except the one feeding
the third IF screen because the bypass condensor had shorted out and
toasted it. If you find a 24/28 volt dynamotor for it that you don't
want, I'm interested. The 12/14 volt one is fairly easy to find. Have
fun, it's a neat and solid receiver.
