[Milsurplus] Vibrator Replacement Challenge

I propose that those that have experimented with various
vibrator circuits actually construct and "test" their circuit in an
actual piece of military equipment . The AN/GRR-5 filament vibrator
would be an ideal subject. Then after testing publish this information
either on the web or in a publication such as "Electric Radio".

This vibrator replacement would either be housed in the original
can or be small enough to mount in the space that the original vibrator
housing occupied and must be operating at the correct frequency. The
circuit would utilize the original vibrator socket and contain its own
heat sink. And hopefully this replacement would be as quiet across the
spectrum as the original vibrator. :-)

Its one thing to theorize and play with vibrator replacement
circuits on the bench but in the end actual testing in a power supply
mounted in a piece of equipment is necessary. But most important -
document and please share the information with others.

I realize that there are several vendors that advertise
replacement vibrators for automobile radios etc., but this challenge is
for older vintage military equipment.
