[Milsurplus] ARB + GF ?

Is this too much of a stretch for a "semi-fantasy Navy aircraft installation" ?
ARB + GF transmitter ?
After all, the ARB i believe was designed to approximately fit the footprint of the RU receiver, and replace it. Altho there was never, as far as we know,
such an actual matching.  I haven't used a GF transmitter since, oh, 1963, but i kinda like the little things and thought maybe i should try to put one on
the air again.
