Some of the plug-ins for the earliest APR-1, also known as an ARC-1 and an
Army BC designation before the famous VHF transceiver was produced are not
directly compatible with the APR-1 or APR-4. The problem was the power pin
for the drive motor was not used or present in the earliest receivers. A
third hole had to be drilled in the back of the plug-in to allow clearance
for the pin. This is all covered in the SPR-1/APR-1 manual. By the way, the
SPR-1 was a shipboard version of the APR-1 which was identical to the APR-1
except for the use of steel panels instead of aluminum. I have one SPR-1
and about a dozen APR-1 and APR-4 receivers along with dozens of tuning units
going up to 4 GHz.

Jeff- what is the difference between apr-4 and apr-4y?
We have a ECM display here at SMECC Museum
of Jammers and Receivers.
( and yea always looking for more too and all the manuals etc)

for the APR-4 you can use all the single plus ins or there is a
wonder plug in of later vintage what is MULTI-BAND ( many of these were
made
quite late compared to the old single band plug ins.

I have found all the plugins to interchange between the APR-1 and APR4

Hello All!

Been looking for an AN/APR-4Y receiver mainframe to complete a setup.
Anyone have one they are tired of?

Also still looking for WWII jammer stuff, have a lot of it, but you might
have a better one for my collection. Working on getting permanent space
here at the college for a small museum of WWII Electrotechnology.

Thanks & 73
