Sounds like the AM modulator section from an AN/ARC-38 transceiver. You can see one on one of my web pages at:

Last time I was at Fair radio they had a bunch of them on the shelf being that was one of the sections that was pulled and discarded in the conversion of the ARC-38 to the SSB version ARC-38A

Subject: [Milsurplus] Collins Modulator module

Looking for someone who may be able to identify a module I found in a trailer load of assorted electronics droppings from a deceased estate sale. Measures 90mm height,120mm width and 80mm depth. Uses 2x 6159 (24v 6146) recessed in chassis and 1x 5814(12AU7) , 1x 5726 (6AL5) , 1x5751 (12AX7). Previous owner has written Collins AM HF Transmitter on cover. The module has a
plug on bottom with 12 small and 3 large pins, marked P1401. Two pots on bottom, R1404 clipping and R1403 gain. Module mounts onto I assume main chassis, and secured with two screws with heads painted red. The mod transformer is not included, and is external to this module.
If someone can identify I would like to use this in my next homebrew AM transmitter .( Don't ask why) Schematic would be great.
Thanks...Michael VK4ZKT
