[Milsurplus] Bringing rigs across the US/Canadian border

Can anyone comment on problems or experiences bringing older British 
Larkspur series military equipment from Canada into the USA?  I have not 
had any problen shipping it from Canada or the UK, but this setup is too 
heavy to be economical. I have heard the FCC 740 form is not required at 
the moment, but would definately have my ham license with me.  Bruce
