I believe the AR-18 uses valve ER6 all the way thru. The AR-18 is the Italian equipment i have seen most often traded. The matching transmitter however is unobtainium.
( i tried. )
I also learned, the hard way, that there’s a difference in the quality of metal used in the tuning mechanism gears between AR-18 of different manufacturers.
If you tire of keeping the spare valves, i’d be very interested.

GM Hue,
Here’s a youtube link to a WWII German - Italian - Japanese presentation done at Antique Radio Charlotte (our local AWA meet) in March 2014 by Leonard (Len) Hunter KA3DBJ (“Don’t Buy Junk”) from Meadville PA (we unfortunately don’t video most of our presentations but we did in 2014 as a test):

There are a couple of Italian sets shown in the video approx 2/3 of the way through including a Ducati AR-18 aviation rx:

In his presentation Len also mentions this book (I don’t have but I need to find a copy)

Take care and have a great Tuesday,

I know this is not much to go on, but – does anyone know of an Italian WW2 receiver which uses 6 valves and IF= 333 kHz ?
The tubes are RSAF rf; RRCF converter; 2x RSAF if amps; R??2 audio ?
thanks-
