I bought the whole array of RBA, RBB & RBC a few years ago after I read that RCA was told by the war department to build the best receiver they could. The story goes that they hired or borrowed 17 engineers from top manufacturers at the time. I think they cost $3-4 thousand each in 1940 dollars!
I have an Elecraft KX3 ( my first store bought ham radio after 50 years of hamming  ) that supposedly has a very highly rated receiver.
On 20M in the middle of the day, the KX3 will be deaf. If I move the antenna over to the RBC, I can hear CW that the KX3 would not. That's a pretty good testament to 75 year old technology
