I did a little more digging, and found in my ROIF
(Radio Operatiors Information File) from March of 1945,
that V is also listed there as the prosign for "from".
Both of these manuals I referenced were Army Aviation based.
I thought I had a manual for general Army communications practices
during the war years, but am going to have to go searching for it.
So it appears that both V and DE were in use during the WWII years.
The Old Military Radio Net on 3570 uses the V, but
no one gets upset if a DE sneaks in here or there.
