Hue Miller just covered the specs of the RBM/RBS receivers and he is right
on with the BW switch should say "Broad and Broader."
I have always thought of this series as "the poor man's RBB/C" receivers.
Less than half the size, lightweight, flimsy top cover, but still having the
"ear protecting" output limiter feature.
They were used a lot for RTTY (RATT) reception in the fleet, and the
anecdotal evidence was that they had to be retuned whenever ship
vibration or gunnery took place. :-) Not built like the extremely rugged
RBB/RBC.
But if you need some Navy receivers to add to the appearance of your BA
shack,
these are easier to handle. ;-)
(I have both of these types at home and also work on them aboard USS LST325)
