Right.  Girling Crimson was DOT4.  So was the later amber coloured stuff 
called LMA or something similar.  DOT5 is also safe.

Any of the three would be safe to put on WW-II cordage but I don't know 
whether it would help or not.  Next TS-13 or TS-15 I unpack and discover to 
have a stiff cord that I know is going to crack, I'll run a test.
