[Milsurplus] Little "Field Day" Genny - ethanol/gasoline

Ethanol in gasoline has been around for years. Cars accept it. Why haven't the small engines manufacturers adapted their engines for the mix?

I bought a Sears lawn mower last year and in included a packet of fuel stabilizer and recommended adding it when using gas with ethanol. They also recommended using as with a maximum of 10% ethanol.

The gas in New Jersey and neighboring states contains 10% ethanol. Is this the standard across the country?
