Wikipedia says that the B-29 was retired in mid 1960 and the B-50 soldiered on until 1965. Didn't realize that almost 4000 B-29's were built in just three years!Jim

The ARN-21 was the first-generation airborne TACAN set. Hard to believe the Air Force was operating any B-29s in the mid-fifties, but if there were a few still in use, they might well have been fitted with an ARN-21...

On the front page is pencilled “ B-29 751 “. This is an IFF-like 960-1215 MHz navigation system. Is this likely to be a correct notation? -Hue
