Using ceramic resonators to build ladder filters (just like using quartz
crystals to
build ladder filters) has been published several times. One hit here:

has links to the Butler site. Unfortunately some of the links in the blog
are missing.
But I think this would be a cheap and satisfying way to build a reasonably
narrow-band
455kHz filter.
