No, you’re in the right lunch line. I wondered about that too; it’s supposed to decrease the coupling of the presently overcoupled primary to secondary.

Right now I’m still downsizing to prepare for another move, but i hope to:

get a selectivity graph before, stock

try the one shorted turn idea, graph

remove turns from the seconday, graph

Yes, there is that. Oh, well. My memory is trying to recall another stunt I though I'd seen for fiddling with coupling... seems like it involved a 1-turn ring between coils. Or maybe I'm out to lunch on that!
