John, AA7W, told me this:

"The original Collins issued crystals seem to be rather hard to find.
All that I have, came from radios purchased with them inside at Zidel
Dismantling in Tacoma, circa 1975. A typical TCS rig was less than ten
bucks, and displayed on an oil soaked table.

One key point on TCS crystals not stated. They MUST be 1/2 half the
operating frequency. If this is over looked, then unreliable oscillation
for sure. I tested that many times. Same for the GRC-9 series."

I don't recall the TCS controls at this time. But i was thinking, an
interesting - maybe - experiment would be to have it in the crystal
mode, and see what the keying is
like with the osc plate tuning is varied.

I would think 20 wpm is pushing it anyway for that big relay, anyway.
