Something else that is attractive to me is the idea of use these newer poly caps ( memory fails right now what they're actually named ). 
You know the ones, the non-lytics. The only challenge is finding them in a small enough package to physically fit comfortably. But they
are available in all kinds of high voltages now, and indeed some of the old receivers did not have a great deal of microfarads filtering 
anyway. Dispensing with the need to ever again have to reform lytics seems to me like a blessing.
