Of course they did. One has to be prepared for the worst. However, the RESULT was that 
there turned out to be no real problem with it. But on the other hand, just because they 
BELIEVED it to be true, doesn't mean it was.

On the other hand, there would be good and valid reasons to not counter the idea. After all, 
if it made more people more careful, that is to the good. I don't see any "con game" about it. 
If I were in the know, I would let the folks who think that the enemy can DF a receiver go 
ahead and think so: it would keep them a bit safer. They would be more careful.
