Well, mouning those engines (4360s?) as pushers caused a problem with 
cooling, as I understand it. But what a neat airplane! :-)

The sound of a B-36 was unmistakeable...

There was an airshow in Missoula, Montana once while I lived there. A B-52 
from Malmstrom AFB near Great Falls was supposed to make two passes, 
one high and one lower.

The crew must have enjoyed the view, as they made passes all day. The 
final one was at an altitude which was below the level of the control tower, 
where I was standing at the time. I was looking down onto the top of the wing 
as it went by.

The entire runway and all the ground around it shook.

I was very impressed.
