[Milsurplus] AN/PRC-1 deflation

I recall maybe 10, 12 years ago a nice PRC-1 came up on Epay. It went for $6000 and the buyer was some kind of 
Military museum in Monmouth, Oregon. Trying now to look up same, as I prepare this note, I find no listing in
Monmouth, Oregon. Which doesn’t surprise me; I drive thru Monmouth twice a year and while there is a small
College there, there’s nothing of interest or remarkable to anyone not at work there.  Anyway, the next PRC-1
On Epay, was one bought by Ken Lakin K6DB, around maybe 2005. ( Ken passed away a couple years back now. )
He paid $3600 for that one; I recall because I dropped out at $2400. Then recently on Epay was  another, this one
In the larger suitcase which used aluminum edging pieces about one to 1.5 inches wide around all sides of 
The actual radio panel to fit the radio to the suitcase. This one went for $1500. I think the first two I mentioned
With the suitcase that fits the radio well without the plain aluminum edging, look much better. Anyway altho this 
is a limited sampling of the reality out there, it does seem that gravity is pulling PRC-1 prices back to earth. I was 
very tempted to jump into this last auction, but I disciplined myself by reminding myself I already had enough in 
this category of equipment; yes, oddly, for a “collector”, a term I no longer feel at ease with, I actually “had enough”.
But I do think the slope of the PRC-1 prices is real interesting.
