The frame was lightweight metal tubes and the "X" braces on each end were hinged so you just pulled them out and they 
snapped into place.
It was a very strong kite and I can see how it would lift a wire antenna. When it crashed into the ground the "X" 
braces folded saving the kite from destruction.
