"a Danish solid-state one, and with the lessened generator"

I have what I believe is a Danish model as well, about 2' tall, 18" across,
carrying handles/rings on top and bottom, looks more like big valve cranks,
rather odd. There is a big knob on top and the top portion comes off to
expose a very large whip antenna, long cable to drop into the water,
transceiver, hand-held microphone, dummy antenna, the bottom third or so is
rechargeable batteries, I think it sat in a holder on a boat, there is a
plug on the side to always keep it charged. It's watertight, designed to be
tossed off a boat, can be used as a flotation device as well. Bloody heavy,
though.

I used to use the McKay tower out in the field. My neighbor machined a
stainless steel spike to replace the foot on the bottom and I replaced the
bow-to-stern longwire with a dipole. Great setup, I made a case out of ABS
plastic to hold it when collapsed. Still have it in the other shop. One
problem I DID have with the black anodized tower is that in Sunlight it
turned hot pink!!!!
