Cool project, I have a Rolm AN/APM-379 that’s the test set for the “Wild Weasel” system that was built around the Rolm 1601 computer and am neck deep in the process of trying to get a Roam/Loral 1602 up and running. Not many people involved with the first generation computer or countermeasures from the sixties and seventies.
Perhaps the people over at the National Electronics Museum can help being they are one of the best places I know for information on those programs? There web page is:

Don’t know if the new museum building over at Pax River is open yet but they have an impressive little museum over there also, maybe they have additional information?

Subject: [Milsurplus] WTB: Bits & pieces connected to AN/ASX-2 passive recognition set

Developed too late for Vietnam, the ASX-2 was intended to provide F-4J pilots & RIOs with a passive display as to the aircraft type being scanned by their fire control radars in order to minimize fratricide kills in the battle space. I believe it was designed to interpret jet turbine signatures using a memory containing that data. I've heard that 6 test or pre-production units were built for evaluation at Pax River NAS. One is  said to be on display there. I have picked up parts of another & am looking for circuit boards, manuals, etc.
The concept behind the ASX-2  dates back to at least the APG-15 tail gun radar in the B-29-B. The APX-15 component discriminated between the high rpms of interceptors & the lower rpms of friendly bombers and illuminated go/no go indicator lamps at the tail gunner's station.
