It is my chore to clean the oven in our household and I use Easy-Off oven cleaner.
I don't know if it or how much lye it contains. I will check the label tonight. I take precautions but it is not a caustic as older products.
They do caution you that it can discolor aluminum:

That scares me. As I recall, (at least in the old days) Easy Off
contains lye that coverts the grease in your oven to soap, so you can
wipe it off.
Lye etches aluminum!
I'm pretty happy with GoJo and a soft brush.
