How exactly is 'liaison' set defined?
A vhf radio, if that was all that was onboard, would do the task, right?

I have somewhere ( I hope still ) some photos of the interior of a Beech 18
owned by Hercules Powder Co.
It had a TA-2 installed. I don't recall what the receiver was, probably a
RA-10, pilot operated. What I found
interesting in the photos were some apparently Bendix specially made control
boxes for SCR-274 type
receivers.

Back to Japanese equipment. I think interesting is one 44-50 MHz
transceiver, which had a "Second Receiver"
which mounted on top of the vhf. The receiver tuned the HF band. I didn't
see any indication there was an
HF transmitter. I don't totally understand this concept.

What about the RCAF Harvard plane with the ATR-11 HF transceiver onboard?
The only radio onboard, AFAIK.
Is that liaison, command, or both?
