As KK5F mentioned, it's an E-4-AE Kreusi compass modulator - shown 
starting at about the middle of the page at

KK5F correctly identified it as a BC-AA-191 (if that is the box you 
meant.)  There is a box to its left which is the BC-AA-194, shown in 
more detail at the bottom of the page at

It is a bit hard to make out, but the tuning unit under the table is 
unmistakable.
