I really doubt this guy is part of the Vast CraigsList Conspiracy.
People put a Big Dollar number on an estate listing because they have to do
something and no hustler will put a low number on anything - he's just an
estate reseller/hustler so of course he puts in big $ and some "Act Now or
we shoot the puppy" BS -
So What? - estate hustlers are the people who turn up these things, not
those of us who stay at home and wait for someone to knock on the door
offering a brand new URT-23E for $50. Just ignore the BS and focus on the
Heavy Metal.
BTW the estate listing includes "hundreds of audio tubes" - which actually
do sell for lots of dollars. Who knows?
So far I haven't seen anyone post who has actually *talked* to the guy.
Yeah maybe he's holding out for gold. but I suspect that he didn't pay
anything and he's gone 10 days with no offers and he wouldn't turn down a
reasonable number like $500-1000 for the heavy metal.
But I'm just guessing, just like everyone jumping all over this guy whoever
he is. I have no idea and no connection to this sale at all. If I was near
Minneapolis I'd probably make an effort to save it and pass it on - it is
all too early for my shack.
I hesitated to send email and open the can of worms again but thought it
was at least worth letting people know there were actual photos of actual
interesting gear and it isn't all vaporware.
See you in Dayton - I'll be the guy looking for the $50 NOS URT-23E. Heck,
I'd probably settle for a used -23C.
Cheers,
