Nick,
Thanks so much for the monumental effort to publish this extremely signifiicant and very rare document. Thanks to Mike Hanz for obtaining and providing the original document.
I have a work-in-progress that presents detailed information on all 31 USAAC radio sets and all 28 USN radio sets that use receivers (BC-A*-183, RU-* types) based on the A.R.C. Model D. This USN type-number information has been sufficient to resolve at least 10 history-of-development questions I had, just in the first few hours of reading. I'll give some examples in a following post.
This document is a magnificent contribution and resource for anyone interested in the historical background of USN radio sets. It does have a few omissions and errors that will likely be obvious to knowledgeable researchers. Also, it appears that the USN type-number system did not start until 1931, so sets that are earlier are not mentioned. Example: The 1931 RU-1 is cataloged, but the original 1930 RU is not. Some equipment is not cataloged at all. Example: My 1943 USN Type RAY-3 glide bomb control receiver is not listed (nor is any other RAY-* receiver). However, the RAY-3 does not actually show the expected Cxx-46### type number either.
Thanks again, Nick and Mike!
