[Milsurplus] TBF-1 Contact Report

Right you are, Taigh. A photo in the same book has a view in the tunnel
of the TBF.
There is a GP and antenna tuning unit, and a RU receiver. No GF visible.
There are
3 RU coils, in their coil storage boxes, mounted to the airframe, on
end, in a row.

I was reminded that i have met a fellow in Seattle who was in Navy air
in the 1940s
after WW2 closed. He told me he flew RO in a PBY being donated to
Philippines. It
occurred to me i might want to talk to him and ask- what? Maybe - what
tuning up
the GO-9 was like, did they use the LM for that, or logged settings?
What about not
running the GO and the coffee pot or stove at the same time? Where they
stopped
on the flight from USA to the Philippines? What would you ask?
-Hue
