Interesting:
The single-engine aircraft the Brazilians scramble appear to A-31's, the
"Vultee dive bomber." I believe my father, a WWII aircraft mechanic was
initially trained on these, but ended up a crew chief of an 8th Air
Forve B-24 in England. I kinda wondered what happened to those planes.
