[Milsurplus] BC-221 frequency meter lid removal?

I have a BC-221 that has a crack in the cover that sits on top of the frequency booklet. Since the plastic (plexiglass?) cover looks to be riveted into place the best solution seems to replace either the hinged cover that opens up to reveal the frequency book or the entire front cover itself. I am having trouble figuring out how to unhinge either hinge. Does anyone have any idea
