This Receiver is a prime example of Inter-Service rivalry and how
your tax money gets wasted.

The Navy (Marine Corps) wanted an HF Receiver, would they just
use the R-392, no way. They added some requirements and awarded
a contract to develop and produce a new radio.

They had one production run and faded into history.
