Well, I own an R-808 but I have not yet tried it out.
I was not thrilled when I read in the manual that to do an alignment, I 
would need to remove
the RF and IF sections and cable them back into the receiver.
Also the top band 16-32 MHz has a tuning rate which is not admirable. The 
SRR-13 is
better in this respect, having it 16-24, 24-32 MHz, but I don't see that the 
SRR-13
has any better selectivity.
